The Fitbit Versa
Tracking your fitness habits is all the rage right now, and this Fitbit model definitely packs a punch when it comes to tracking your overall health. While it does not include a built-in GPS like the Ionic, you can still use the function when paired with your smartphone.
By using fitness trackers, you’ll gain greater insights into your fitness level and help you to improve it over time.
I’ve been using the Fitbit Versa for a while now, and I have to say, I really like it. So if you a looking for a smartwatch to keep track of your fitness goals, let’s dive in to see if this one is right for you.
Like anything these days, the Versa requires a Fitbit account to function correctly. So the first thing is to install the Fitbit app on your phone or computer. This is so you can keep records of all the data you are tracking about yourself.
Now we have two components, the Fitbit Versa Watch and the Fitbit App. Let’s have a look at what features we get on the Versa Watch.
The digital display comes up with the time and date – standard like any watch, (though you do have the option to change how it looks through the connected app). Swipe up on the display panel to see your stats for the day. You can select which information you are interested in viewing.
You can choose up to 7 from:
- Core Stats – (steps, calories, km’s, etc)
- Heart rate
- Sleep cycle
- Water intake
- Calorie intake
- Exercise for the week
- Weigh to lose
- Badges to aim for
Next swipe left for its core functions: health and wellbeing are the main features for this device. As you can see with the multiple exercise timers, these will display different specs depending on the type of activity – run, bike, swim, workout, etc…
There’s a coach button, which will run you through some preset exercises. Really good if you only want to do a small workout to pass the time. Though for larger designed workouts you’ll need to subscribe to their fitness coach app.
Most of the secondary features compliment this smartwatch quite nicely, though the music option needs a desktop computer to transfer your songs.
The watch is the device that reads all your measurements and although you can view some of the data on it, you are going to want to check your stats in greater detail through the app.
The Fitbit app can be installed on mobile or desktop. This is where we get into all the details. The sleep tracker lets you see how well you’ve slept, giving you a sleep score for the night.
While the Fitbit Versa will record your sleep patterns, calorie burns, and heart rate, you’ll also want to set some goals up. Enter in your food and water intake for the day, this will allow you to track your in and out calories. Letting you know if you have enough calories spare to indulge in that piece of chocolate.
Join the Fitbit community, interact with other users to share stories and gain support. Start a virtual adventure race and challenge your friends to a friendly competition. Or go on a solo adventure and unlock information about the virtual trail.
Work through a guided program and build a new habit, whether it be action steps for better sleep, or a fitness plan to get you more active. There are plenty of options to keep you motivated, so no more excuses for not getting out and moving.
Fitness for you
All in all, with the recorded stats, guided plans and virtual challenges, you have plenty of motivational aspects to keep you active. Of course, if you are already motivated, you can simply track your own progress.
The combination of the Fitbit Versa Watch and accompany App will assist you in knowing how your body travels throughout the day. Plus it will show you how you are progressing over time. Getting you that clear picture of your overall health goals and whether you are on track to succeed. And with the additional features for challenges, you have more reason to improve your game.
The Fitbit Versa is lightweight and well priced compared to other fitness watches on the market. With the new version of the Versa being released, you’ll be able to pick up this model for a bargin. It still has all the important features on the watch and connects to the same app software.
